The women in Legal Codes & Talking Trees are Akimel O'odham, Duwamish, Salish, Sauk-Suiattle, Yaqui, and Yavapai. Their communities continue to remember their contributions to their regional and tribal histories as they engage efforts to expand and retain sovereignty over their lands and futures.
